This work features an experiment in synthesis. A puppet of flesh made by Buddhist monks, Beryun is a living Yin Yang symbol, a perfect synthesis of Light and Dark magic. She is a creature of opposites. Beautiful, yet deadly - spiritual, yet soulless. A creature of darkness, the vampire Deshwitat came to China to visit Beryun's creators with the hope that they could teach him Light Magic. This work features a wandering swordsman who cannot die. Three hundred years ago, Rett Buttler was one of Deshwitat's only friends. After the Light Sorcerer Kalutika imprisoned Deshwitat, Rett fought to avenge his friend and would have died, had not his opponent other plans. Kalutika cursed Rett with immortality so that he would live to see the Armageddon that the sorcerer would bring forth. It features an unexpected savior. Deshwitat began his journey seeking only revenge, but now he has the weight of the world on his hands. His enemy, Kalutika, is prophesized to bring about the end of the world, and Deshwitat must master Light Magic in order to stop him. When Eastern monks fail Deshwitat, only one option remains to him - he must travel west to the very source of Light Magic...The Vatican.
