When parents receive a diagnosis for their child that includes the words aspecial medical needs, a they often have no idea where to turn or if there is any specific help available for their family. This book deals primarily with all of the resources that are available for these children, many at no cost, and brings this information together into one place. Ianas Guide was written as a resource book by one of their own: a parent of a child with special medical needs for other parents and/or caregivers of children with special medical needs. The author has been where these parents are now and knows from experience that it is a very scary place to be. She is the mother of a child with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA). |
